I'm sad. That was the shot of a rusty low confidence striker. He has to get his head back in the game and forget that miss.

Every game that passes for a striker without scoring adds to him being classified as a dud this season. He’s had plenty of starts at this point. From a scoring standpoint he is not at this level. His passing play, work rate, and movement are at this level. Hence why things are going the way they are.

He was much more involved after Martinez came on.
Before that he was invisible with the exception of the assist off that ball gifted to him. Both offensively and defensively uninvolved and unable to get in a good position to receive the ball.
Hopefully hitting the post doesn't get to his head, he needs to keep trying.Last edited by The; 12-19-2024, 05:12 PM.

Just got around watching the highlights,
Oh man, he’s gotta finish that one V one
Defender did well to close that angle, but he had a lot more time to run with the ball and force the keeper to commit but more to near post before sliding it into empty net
Typical of a low confidence striker finish, rushed it a bit ..! :/
beside that , how was his overall performance anyways?

Overall its the same as how he's always has been: excellent defensively, good press, good passing and vision, and gave a few nice passes to his teammates but they couldn't finish (besides the one Arna scored). He missed a 1v1 with the keeper when it was time for him to score though. It seems like he's losing his confidence in his own finishing, there are times he could have just shot the ball himself but he erred on the side of a safe pass to a teammateOriginally posted by BacheLot View PostJust got around watching the highlights,

His positioning, pressing, and passing are good, maybe even great. and I think he had a decent game overall today. But again, when you've been in a goal scoring slump, you HAVE to tuck the easy ones away to break the slump. that's what separates average & good finishers, and he's actually been a below average finisher so far at Inter but we all know he's better than thatOriginally posted by Nokhodi View PostHe made the assist and he hustled and did very good work up front minus the post he did.
It wasnt as bad as the Jonestown reaction our members on this forum have.

I love Mehdi but we all know finishing is his Achilles heal. He does everything else so well. If he were a good finisher, he'd be a top 10 forward in the world.
