After one more season at Persepolis, he ended up at Al-Gharafa in the Qatari league. By now he was established in the national team, and it was this that would give him his big opportunity. Taking a leap of faith — and an enormous pay cut from his Qatari salary — he moved to Portugal.

Love him or hate him, but CQs importance and role in helping set up these kinds of things is what makes him so legendary to me. Makes me disgusted seeing the reverse happen under our current bisavad coaching staff with everyone going to arab leagues. No reaching out to foreign diaspora, no connections to send our best abroad, and no serious plans to properly integrate any youth.

this tourney's KO rounds defo takes place after the conclusion of his current 1st contractual year (June 30th, 2025) at Inter..!!
i suppose they still could try to sell him off after the tourney (offload him on free?? highly unlikely) but he sure seems to be on books for next season too ..!!

it's a huge "shop window" opportunity for Inter, to offload (supposedly unpopular with fan-base players ) for a $exy profit for cash rich suitor clubs, so expect to see Mehdi feature A LOT in this tourney..!!

im off to my summer EU vacay during most of the early rounds of this tournament, but if hopefully Inter move on to KO rounds into July, then most likely i'd try my best to attend a match too..!!?

at a very least they shoulda had them sporting their clean-cut, white away kit..!!
from my recollections though they've largely fared well playing in their BVB looking yellow 3rd jersey..!!? except once i think..??

PSG are pretty dangerous attacking down both wings....!! Inter gonna need Mehdi to help neutralize the danger from one or the other and help balance out the overall MF weakness of Inter ..!
old man Mikhi needs to have a huge game and im not so sure he can quiet crack it for full 90 at this level..? he still hustles well but also highly erratic with his passing on the counter..!!
