Bro delivered the assist to the game winner on a soft down-filled pillow. Frattesi couldnt' believe his fricking eyes it was so neatly placed. Frattesi actually hesitated in taking the shot he was so shocked at how perfect it was. Meanwhile Mehdi is just sitting back watching, knowing he gave him the game-winner. What a class act. What a clutch player. He has delivered over and over for every coach who has placed his trust in him. Really proud of him tonight. Can't wait to see him next month in the Club World Cup (I'll be at the Urawa match in Seattle)!!!!

Over the past few months, I have noticed that Taremi's been criticized for not living up to expectations at Inter Milan, both by Italian fans and media and the fans on this site. Yet, he's been able to overcome nagging injuries, which were partly responsible for underperforming in some matches, and delivered superbly on the field against Barca, now having the opportunity to be the first player from Iran to win the trophy. Still, I don't think he has received enough praise here for his impressive performance in the semifinal match. Against Barca, he played with poise and calm, doing all the intangibles needed to stabilize the game and push the ball forward. I seriously believe that, had Taremi not replaced Martinez, Inter would have lost the match, as, in addition to his tremendous impact on defense, he had a major role in creating the last goal, first by heading the ball for Thuram with great precision and timing, and then by gently rolling it in front of Frattesi, who brilliantly scored with a sweet touch. Again, Taremi maintained his cool and got the job done, doing exactly what he was asked to do. But did he get enough credit for the indispensable role he played in making this huge victory happen?
