Some thoughts before the game - this golden generation of players are so likeable and talented, we need something to show for it, so I hope this will fuel the team. Also Persians come alive when they are the underdog. I believe deep down in my heart we can do it

I actually prefer starting Milad vs stronger opposition. We'll need his speed and his defensive abilities. Imagine and old and slow Ehsan starting vs the speedy Japanese. Nokhodi jan would have a heart attack.Originally posted by The View PostMilmo on the left back will either be a master stroke of genius, or a complete fuck up. No in between.
The rest I can't disagree with. Unfortunately Mohebbi is marginally better defensively than Ghaedi, so starting him make sense.
I also agree with Mohebi starting, to your point. Ghaedi has been our player of the tournament but we need someone more defensive and Mohebi's physicality can come in handy.
I like the rest of the line up and adding a MF instead of another forward.
And we have a ton of talent coming off the bench if we're trailing. Ghaedi, Gholi, Torabi, Moghanlou (for a different profile and extra height against a weak Japan defensive line).

Thats the reason why they are superior in Asia and since 2018 reached international standards and never looked back when the beat Colombia and Poland in the group and almost kicked out a starstudded Belgium in their prime.Originally posted by Kian H View PostNo Mitoma and Minomino. Their squad depth is a joke
