I think it would be better if FiFA just abolish National team tournaments and focus on Club football.Originally posted by DR Strangemoosh View PostOut of Cuper's latino legionnaires it's the argentinian and colombian ones which we need to worry about

This ridiculous rules for naturalizing players have opened up a great market in rich Arab and some East Asian countries for bunch of poor south American footballers who haven't been able to make it in their own countries‌, and now are finding fortunes by making up up fake identities claiming ancestry in all sorts nationalities. I had never knew Indonisians and HKers look so Europeans or Lebanon, Syria‌, Qatar, UAE and even Iraq have so many talented half south Americans. Most of these players have never sat foot in the countries they play for and probably don't even speak the language.
This Asian Cup looked so full of club like teams who came together for this tournament and may not be there after. Total garbage!
We are going have to teach this all-for-money Syrian wanna-bes, a lesson in real pride in your own nationality, they won't forget.
Fck Gianni Infantino if this team is Syrian!

Aside from UAE and Qatar who I agree with you on, all those other countries you mentioned have been going through decades of war and instability. They have massive diaspora, especially in Europe and South America. Plenty are second or third generation. BTW we also benefit from diaspora players like Ghoddos, Gucci, Dejagah, etc. There are some 7-8 million Iranians living outside of Iran.Originally posted by Kavian View Post

Kateb jan, I agree with the spirit of what you’re saying and it’s definitely theoretically the right decision. But I don’t see this happening to be honest.Originally posted by oracle View PostStarting line up vs syria

Most likely scenario is general starts a strong lineup, tells team to go all out attack. And once we’re up a few goals, he will sub out key players.
Im hoping for slower more physical lineup in this game. Wouldn’t mind featuring saman off the bench. Starting Majid (who IRIB reporter confirmed is healthy), Cheshmi in CDM, and Sardar off the bench. Also wouldn’t mind ARJ starting over Gholi so we can have Gholi for QF. We also need to protect little Ghaedi.

Mohebi's goal was legit.Originally posted by Hosseini View PostEvery single one of these are legitimate and correct decisions except the Australia game. I'm trained in the laws of the game. You should certify to become a referee if you really want to learn the laws of the game and the decisionmaking process that goes on in particular incidents.
If there is bias why didn't Beiranvand get sent off?
Penalty for UAE was a gift to UAE.
Kanaani did not deserve Yellow Card.
VAR refs were surely making decisions in favor of UAE, they ensured that UAE only lose to Iran by 1 goal. Mohebi's goal made Iran lead 3:0 but they disallowed it, that gave UAE players moral boost and try to stick to their plans to reduce the deficit to only 1 goal.
UAE + VAR = SUCCESS, Finish 2nd in group ahead of Palestine, and will play Tajikistan in Round of 16, while Palestine might get Australia.
Emirati + Saudi + Qatari $$$ + South East & East Asian & Aussie syndicates/corrupt refs always ruining Asia Cup. 2015 it was the east asia + Aussie to ensure their teams reach semi and final, this time Saudi + UAE + Qatar doing everything for at least one of them having a chance at winning the cup.
I'd really be keen to see list of VAR assistants for every match, do you know any link?
I also don't like the fact they assign Arab refs when Iran plays Arab countries.
This tournament surprisingly had two incompetent/corrupt Japanese refs who officiated Uzbekistan vs Australia and Tajikistan vs Qatar. Bad decisions against Iran, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in some games is no coincident. Match fixing and biased decisions does not mean openly make decisions against the team you want to lose match or lose points, those VAR assistants/linesmen/match referee are very clever, they have to ensure to apply their bias or corrupt decision at only times that are needed. VAR refs from Saudi Arabia exactly did that in Iran vs UAE, they knew at which point they need to influence the match referee so their Emirati bros finish second ahead of Palestine.

Word on the street is that we are the underdogsOriginally posted by webmaster View PostGN chose the worst rout to final. Syria is actually the strongest 3rd place team in this match up while others are playing Indonesia and Vietnam. Syria has an outstanding defense. Let's hope we will be ready for them as if we have a bad day in attack and defensive problems with injury and etc. it would be a horrible day for Iran.
I want to be optimistic so let's cross our fingers.--------------------------Beiranvand-------------------

Majority of those in Indonesia or Syria (at least have one Indonesian or Syrian parent/grandparent) so these would be same as Fereydoun Zandi, Daniel Davari and Omid Nazari. Hong Kong only few of them have at least one parent from Hong Kong, one player is of Mexican ancestry but born and raised in Hong Kong, however the rest of foreigners are imports with no connection to the country whether African or Latin American or European, just opportunists who want to play at Asian Cup or World Cup if their new country qualifies.Originally posted by Kavian View Post

The most disgusting is Qatar followed by UAE and Bahrain naturalizing Africans and Latin Americans. Their Cricket teams also fields Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan and Bengali. Their athletics teams have European and African. Kuwait does the same in other sports but haven't seen any naturalized players in Kuwait football team. Saudi do the same for Cricket but not football.
