Kanani worries me. I gave him a 7 but after review he still deserves a 7 but is shaky and is heavily reliant on Shoja. I worry about him. He needs to concentrate better. On his day he is our best defender.

Ramin is also worrying. I get that he needs to run into the opposition half at times, but he often does it when it's not always necessary and even when he knows he can't reach the overhit ball that's passed down the right hand side. Once that happens, he jogs back, exposing the backline.

What’s with all this “he should’ve rested” talk. Mate they have 8 days in between games. Everyone will be well-rested. The bigger point in my opinion is how our players can be ready for speedy Japan/SK only 3 days after gruelling, physical Syria match. I hope the TM staff make a plan for this. We will need to play a lineup similar to Palestine game, with Cheshmi in for Ghoddos and Mohebbi in for Ghaedi in order to protect our more technical players.

I don't understand the love for Kanani. He is strong and has some speed. He is aggressive to a fault, though, and has the touch of someone with a prosthetic leg. I'm telling you, he could kick the ball to Australia, from Qatar, and not mean to do it.

When he takes a touch out of the air, or on a hard pass, the ball goes waaay too far in front of him. Against a team like UAE, it's not a big deal, because they weren't pressuring up top. Against a team with a pulse, who has equal athletes? Kanani is going to be a turnover machine, or he will do the following: "Oh &^%t there is <name a fast striker> coming at me! MUST KICK BALL TO THE MOON."

If he is our best defender on "his day"? We are in deep feces in the semi and final.

Ramin may have problems going too far forward, but he is our best option at the position, and he does have good control, and good pace.

It's confirmed now? From the mechanism of the injury, it was clear it was a cruciate ligament, like I posted before, but I didn't think it was a complete tear..did they say he needs surgery?
