Losing your head after Iraq-Japan game is a true sign of unprofessionalism. You have a chance here to secure a convincing victory with as many goals possible to put fear in your opponents eyes but yet again they chose to be absolute crybabies. Weak mentality is not something you can change over the course of a tournament and if the reports coming out of the TM camp are true we were doomed from the start.

GOrdi noie has a difficult decision to make.

PARVIN SAID IN HIS SEAT DOWN CHIT CHAT,
TM PLAYERS HAVE PROBLEM OVER WHO SHOULD BE CAPITAN...when camera is on it might be all smile ,but someone like parvin has great inside info from the camp...general also talks to nasser ibrahimi parvin best friend....there might also be issue over capitan armband.

Shame on all of them.
BTW Varzesh TV commentators are saying that Iraq defeating Japan may have affected all of our players.

I’m actually not confident at all when Cheshmi has the ball in the midfield. One of the reasons why we looked better against Palestine is cuz Ezatollahi is much more superior on the ball.Originally posted by BacheLot View Post

any opponent we face from here on gonna look at our massive struggles against the high press today and would try to do the same thing to us moving forward in this tourney....!!
GN needs to turn his focus to finding the best solution to deal with high presses... imo it either involves good ol bezan ziresh o bodo jolo to open spaces left by opponent or Quick, 1 touch passing with requires constant and clever movement W/O Ball and consistently making sensible passing triangles in transition .. especially in MF areas..!
Sardar and Saman and to a lesser degree saeed are our best players for quick, 1touch passing in transition play thus neutralizing high presses and killer instincts and good finishing in the final 3rd is paramount to put the game to bed early and take the steam outa opponents early as in the Palestine match ..!
I agree, GN needs to figure out a better way out of the press, because trying to build up like today will lead to a minimum 1-2 goals scored against us from teams like Japan/South Korea.

cheshmi shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near national teamOriginally posted by Damavand View PostCheshmi should be sent home right away. This Bozo is a true liability. Jahanbakhsh ans Mohammadi are also not far behind.

Beiravand needs to be benched right away. His antics today was truly embarrassing and destructive.
Damn what a crappy day !!

Look at it this way: if we had lost to Iraq 2-1 we’d be losing our marbles. Japan, the elite powerhouse of Asia, with all the money, resources, planning, good players, excellent pre-tournament form, dropped a dud with their result.Originally posted by Damavand View PostForget the trophy. At least 2 more games left, let’s see what happens..

well said 👍Originally posted by Prowess View PostTo give another perspective: we at least came away with the victory. As invincible as we thought Japan were, Vietnam put 2 past them, and they lost to Iraq.
There was a reason why CQ did not emphasize too much build up play with our team. When opponents press, you need touch, technique, and anticipation to escape. There were so many instances where we lost the ball in our own defensive half because of trying to play this style.
In a way, this was an excellent prep game before facing the likes of Japan or South Korea. So many bad individual performances by the team so I don’t fully blame GN.
I hope GN by now, has a full grasp of the limits of our team, and does not force a certain style of play when we can’t execute. It’s better to just boot the ball up in certain instances to better relieve the pressure.
I wouldn’t get too worked up about this game. Hong Kong played well, are well-coached, and had a good defensive shape. Let’s see what happens against UAE.

I haven’t posted in a while, but wanted to come back just to say that was painful to watch. Victory that makes you sick to see. This team needs to throw the game against uae to move to the other side of the bracket. We’d basically have Lebanon/Tajikistan/China, Iraq, and Syria/Bahrain/Oman path to semi-final to play one of Australia or Saudis who I like our chances against.
If we beat UAE, we are 100% guaranteed losing to SK/Japan in QF, might as well just pack it up with these types of performances. With a loss to UAE, we have a better path to the final where we leave the final to luck and hope we win.

I can see the TM coaching team have tactically improved and this game was a tactical brilliance.
Preserve your players, don't collect any cards, injuries and come away with a win. Although a tie would have also sufficed.
Next game is easy tie, lose, win makes no difference. But of course we have to see how other groups do.
We are in control.
We are in a very strong position to go all the way. Congratulations to the TM staff.
Going by the comments here though, I can see we fans have a long way to go yet
