Excellent lineup (aside from maybe Kanaani, he is good but he brings drama and bad attitude to team melli that we don't really need)

I wholeheartedly believe Yadegar could help us out A LOT in CDM position. Yes he is still a bit raw and only 20, but he's grown very tall and physical this past season on top of being very fit and speedy. Pogon has been starting to slowly trust him as a pivot/anchor with minutes in games (as seen vs Gent) here and there and transitioning him in. Even if he doesn't start for us I hope we can call him up for WCQ and maybe Jordan tournament to have him on bench. I wonder how we can have GN notice him?

We need to get the ear of someone in GN's camp for him and Eckert

The last CDMs we had with any considerable pace was Ebrahimi and Ando/Nekounam actually had some decent speed. But Eza, Karimi and Cheshmi run like they are stuck in molasses. Scary to think what quicker and more technical teams could do to that

100% agree with you on that lineup. Personally I'd play Cheshmi and Karimi like today instead because they both have the same pace anyways, and Cheshmi has seemed more fit whenever he comes on. Idk what is going on with Eza, it might be that he just never plays anymore for club

I think we can afford to keep an extra CDM and instead cycle Taremi/Azmoun up front between halves to keep them fresh and injury free (especially Taremi that badbakht is 2 seasons and 3 falls away from a hip replacement surgery with all of his falls and dives)

I think against Japan or Korea we'd need full firepower up front and their combination play, which hopefully will bail us out. Without that moment of magic between them we're done for against those opponents

Then if we somehow manage to score sub out Azmoun and go to a 4-5-1 with Taremi up front and tucked in to hold the lead and bring in a DMF

Problem is our CDMs are so slow that Japan especially will eat them alive in open play. Very worried about that. Not as much worried about our fullbacks getting burned if we play Moharrami, and Jalali, or Mohammadi

^ Gholizadeh is a better player at the moment, hopefully once he comes back 100 percent he can take that role. Luckily we have depth on the wings to the point where one of our best wingers was out and we had replacements

Torabi is better too. The guy is a great player for all his issues off the pitch

Real talk: what's the solution to Alireza?

I love him as a human being. Guy is super down to earth, humble, and a great leader. I always see him giving speeches to motivate and he is always the first one to raise the players up from a goal coneded to make a comeback.

HAVING SAID THAT, he plays atrociously. He can't receive passes, he makes dangerous back passes, he can barely cross now, and he is getting slower.

Who starts ahead of him? Gholizadeh? Allahyar?

Do we move him to CM instead of wings, because he can't play wings anymore.
