Just watched UsA vs Japan. Incredible game. The speed of the players compared to ours is night and day. We are going to get destroyed at the WC unless we bring on some faster players

Its gonna be hilarious seeing 33 year old Taremi run deep to defend and try to run back to the top, he gets outran by everyone nowadays. God forbid he does a few dribbles without falling down

Honestly Cheshmi has a place in my heart for that Wales goal even if he's not the best player. One of the only long shot goals by any TM player in like 15 years.

He's not a starter but he can play CB and CDM in emergencies. Of course prioritize youth ahead of him though...

When a team presses you play long balls. It's not that bad and GN actually understands.

What is more concerning is how vulnerable we are on counters and just regular old fashioned defending.

Having forwards too slow to work that out ruins that tactic.

2018 Taremi and Azmoun could make it work, not now.


The solution to the above issue would then be loading the midfield and hoping it hides the cracks. I'm skeptical because a midfield of Cheshmi, Ezatolahi, Ghoddos, Jahanbakhsh, and Noorafkan are still going to lose every loose ball to just 1 African or European player who will proceed to launch those counters

Our defense only has a chance with foreign coaches who understand what team shape and zonal defending is, and not last ditch effort tackling. People like Noorafkan and Milad can't even cover their guy making a run, much less defend a serious counter attack form a non-afc country.

Is it sefid parasty? Because an Iranian coach also comes with Iranian staff like Saeed Alhoei and our "Barca Tactician". Rahman Rezaeian is still flipping through his tactics binder to show Majid Hosseini what to do (hope he finds them one day!). Or whoever that goalkeeping coach GN has, because the biggest club he's coached is tractor. Can't forget Teymourian having mental breakdowns and jumping into the pitch every other game when things go wrong...

Esteghlal under Neko had other emotional maturity problems we don't want in TM and Tartar is heavily unqualified to be anywhere near the national team

Only Iranian coach id be okay with is Yahya + Bagheri as his assistant because he actually understands what defending and attacking entail. And even THEN Yahya is still a drama queen who quits every 3 weeks
