As I start this piece, let me first appreciate the terrific efforts of every side, particularly the Asian nations, in this year’s FIFA World Cup.

Last day, we witnessed Iran, a country under deep geopolitical troubles, take home well-deserved three points against the might of Wales, where Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, Daniel James, and many well-known footballers play.

T
he Iranian national team is coached by Carlos Queiroz – a veteran in the coaching fraternity. The UEFA Pro License holder (the highest coaching degree in world football), was lauded for executing a compact strategy throughout the game. Iran outplayed the European side from the start. After multiple goal attempts, the deadlock was broken at the fag end of the game, and the team scored another goal to win 2-0.

C
arlos, now 69 years old, is a man of high repute. He is the longest-serving coach for the Iranian national team. Alongside Iran, Queiroz was the Head Coach of the Portuguese football team, Real Madrid, and the Assistant Coach at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson. When Cristiano Ronaldo signed for United, Carlos played a pivotal role in communicating and helping better his performance. Sir Alex, one of the highest-ranked coaches of world football, has always praised the Mozambique-born’s coaching abilities and temperament.
Carlos won the Spanish Super Cup with Real Madrid, the Portuguese Super Cup with Sporting CP, and became the U-20 World Champion twice with Portugal.

Setting up the BBFS coaching methodology with Football by Carlos Queiroz

It was October 2010. When Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) were setting base in Delhi, India. Back in the day, BBFS had partnered with Carlos Queiroz and his team of reputed coaches to develop the coaching methodology of BBFS, which is followed to date.

In September, two Portuguese coaches, Hugo Pereira and Luis Pimenta, were flown to India to build the first batch of Indian coaches.

“Generally in India, we select coaches just by looking at their qualifications and previous achievements and make them run a team. But the philosophy at BBFS from the start was to prioritize learning and development. In 2010, BBFS started its operations here in Delhi. Carlos Queiroz and his team had asked us to organize a coaching workshop,” said Sunil Patwal, the Technical Director of Bhaichung Bhutia Football

Initially, around 17 experienced coaches enrolled in the workshop, which went around for a month. After three weeks, the Portuguese coaches, who led the proceedings, selected four.

Over time, the coaching procedures kept on upgrading. BBFS, as of today, follows the methodology that emphasizes the holistic development of young footballers and focuses on a child’s physical, mental, social, tactical, and technical aspects.
Building a community of 2,000+ coaches

Since 2010, BBFS has built a coaching community of 2,000+ coaches who have gone on to manage reputed clubs and academies.

“Coach education is one of the most important aspects to grow future footballers. The Indian government and private organizations are investing in developing facilities, but a lot of focus needs to be put into training the coaches. Through the enJogo Coach-ed program, we aim to develop and upskill aspiring and senior coaches,” said Mr. Patwal.

The coaches who enroll for the enJogo coaches workshops are screened by the BBFS coaching team and are provided employment opportunities within the academy or provided guidance to upskill and upgrade their careers.

If you or any of your friends or family members are interested in coaching or wish to take the next step in your coaching career, we will be happy to discuss. Drop a mail at hello@enjogo.com and someone from our team will be in touch.

Meanwhile, hope the World Cup matches keep on getting better and more entertaining. Iran will play their next Group-B game against USA on 30th November. If they win, ‘Team Melli’ will strengthen their position for the Round of 16.

Iran as a country has been going through a lot & despite all that, they put up an impressive show in the ongoing #fifaworldcupqatar2022! A win against Wales made them the talk of the town. The Portuguese Carlos Queiroz, their experienced coach have been making all the right noises. We at BBFS too have a connection with the Portuguese. We are forever grateful to him & his team for helping us shape our #CoachEducation program. Thank you for starting this thread, Kesh!
He was integral to laying a piece of the foundation of American football.
He has modernized Iranian football; it may not be the style some like, but it is modern with regards to what is going on behind the scenes.
Most of all: he sticks up for Iranians, and the culture.

The Iran - Wales game will always be remembered as our most beautiful World Cup game in my opinion. We played beautiful football and rewarded the good performance with stunning goals in the last minutes of the game. What a joy ❤️

Just talking about the football alone, the guy transformed Iranian football from one of its darkest periods and revolutionised the national team.

Gave us three world cups with immense moments of happiness and where we performed above expectations in all three. Good luck for his next stage

I think the vast majority on this forum would consider him the best national team coach of our history, particularly given the foundations he built in the poisoned soil when he took over. There isn't any doubt as to what he has achieved for Team Melli, the sheer joy he has given us.

In an alternate universe without IR's massacre of the people, he would have had statues all over the country for what he has done

But life throws curveballs and sadly despite his success, remaining as coach would taint his legacy hugely and unfortunately for a lot of fans he has already lost the status he had. I agree with this guy:

I hope he has success where he goes next - TM's coach should now be Ghalenoi

Asia Cup 2023 is Coming Home

CQ will stay and take revenge for Japan loss.
Renember there are allwayz rumors for higher class coaches when not under contract. and CQ wont go to Qatar.

My guess is that Taj will play the game, hold meatings with several coaches, and then appoint CQ or another atleast "expensiver" coach. Could be from good coach shelf as CQ or Renard or fraudshelf as Wilmotz. It probably wont be domestic shelf for AC, but maybe as assistant planned to take over after AC.

Since AC might be the last chance for Taj to get a trophy, my bet is that he will go for his best chance to win it.

Possible pick from Icshelf is darkhorse Branko
BUT odds are in favour of CQ

3 Signs?
1. No thanks and goodbye message yet from CQ
2. No comments about WC yet.*
3. Taj on tv saying CQ is (still) an option, (admitted branko and bunch of others are so aswell)
= its a money/contract settlement or disscussion that has to take place first.

* talking about the open spot for an example. Was it a misstake or was it a protest enpty spot for unpickable player? Or did he submit 26 roster, didnt budge and iff crossed one off ? Its all just speculations but silence is an interesting sign aswell. Answer might differ if he wants to stay or not, so better not say anything before the future is decided?

CQ would be dumb to turn down the Qatar job

2.5 million, no issues with getting your payout, state of the art facilities, talent on the team, no drama and enemies to deal with, the league revolves around the national team, get everything you want catered to you- car, house, meals

Only person you need to satisfy is Prince Hammam lol

Since when Qatar have talent? If he wants talents, he can stay in Iran, that the only thing we have in our football (that need to be polished)
