I believe it's quite unfair to put all the blame on Mansoorian. There are plenty of reasons for our football's failure in pretty much all levels, main culprits being IFF and its continuous wrong moves. Total defiance and procrastination along with incompetence have constantly been taking a toll on our football, the irony is though no one is there to learn from the past. Wrongdoings and mishandling of crucial matters get passed by and overlooked one after another, without anybody being hold responsible for the wrong actions and decisions!

The entire country fundamentally dysfunction, let alone its football federation etc.

In fact, since his personality doesnt seem like the sell out, overly asslicking the regime type, and his stock was and popularity was rising rather quickly with the fans, I have a suspicion that he was offered the sinking boat job in the first place ..! something that Human saw coming, hence refused to take the burden and passed it on to Mansurian..!!

there is no sense in bashing a promising young lad who stepped-in when No One else was willing to take the helm and made a valiant effort to rescue an already sinking ship and at the end being undone by what i would consider a pure act of sabotage..!!

totally agree with everything that DD says in this thread, especially his first post below..!

as much as I believe mansourian was a bit inexperienced and young to get a national team duty, I still maintain the biggest reason for our elimination was IFF and not what transpired on the pitch this thursday.

and I think it is rather unfair to pick on mansourian who is responsible in a very minute way (I'd say around 10-15% at fault) while leaving out the biggest culprit in this clusterfu*k : IFF and IFF's bosses in IR.

such articles, I believe, are in service of those guilty parties in IR and IFF who want to divert the attention from themselves and shift the blame to others. we know the gov't has plenty of media and journalists at their service and command to do their bidding. this (shameless) article is one of them.

although mansorian was at fault for 10-15% ... but even then, I think we could have advanced had we gone into this game still 1-0 ahead. and I'd say mansourian was correct in believing in his team that they'd advance.

hindsight is a wonderful thing..!! putting ALL things in perspective in this situation, Mansurian's fault could not exceed any more than 10% of the whole screw up..!
No doubt that he wasnt qualified for the job and he may not be a world beater coach (yet..!) but his victory vs Russia and quality Iraq u23 Away clearly shows that he has a good potential to become a very decent iranian coach..!

It's hard to call what experience is when we see Guardiola and Klinsmann on the top of the world football. I don't know If you wanna call it professionalism.

There is some thing definitely different between our young coaches and theirs.
it seems they are more into lobbying for the job than the job itself.

Have you seen some of those phone interviews with those popular figures about an important game, and they say "I didn't watch the game." ???

It's no secret that this IFF is not competent but come on, that's coaching team fault anyway you wanna put it. There is a reason they give you a sheet called "substitute control sheet" and the only person can sign, is the coach. Simple,you sign, you bear the responsibility.
You get a team and become a coach, you check every thing about your team. As simple as that. You can bring every excuses but it just shows your incompetency more. You did not know the team, you had no time to learn, then you don't accept the job or you keep a couple of previous people in your coaching team. it's called transition.

One of tragedy of Iranian football is They appoint mostly least experienced coaches for youth program, Perhaps they assume young coach can work better with young players.
Another oddity about Omid team is that their coach can decide who will be their team manager. Peyrovani made a condition to his appointment to have Fanaei as Manager. In case of Afazeli, it was IFF who appointed Parhizgar and that was because they regarded Afazeli “team Jam kon" at first.
When Mansourian was appointed as head coach, he did not want Parhizgar
And preferred Hajilu (or Amu Asghar as he calls him).
Even when Hajilu was busy with Hejazi memorial and for a while did not show up and finally resigned, it was Mansourian who contacted Kafashian to insist return of Hajilu.
Parhizgar expected reward for advancing to next round but forced to resign and being replaced by Hajilu created hostile relationship between them.
They all had schedule meeting but Parhizgar did not show up. Nabi, Moeini, Kharati, Hajilu, Mansourian were present there but not Parhizgar (as you see Coach participate in admin meeting sometimes).
There were never took placed a meeting between Hajilu and Parhizgar.
Parhizgar submitted all document to TM committee and Hajilu never got that information from TM Committee.
Here is Parhizgar interview few month ago in Feb in which clearly indicated he gave all document to IFF. I take it Hajilu or Mansourian did not see that.
You can also read recent Mansourian interview, It tell how he did not want Parhizgar and that is a lot more authority than just Selection of players, training and tactical issue.
Beside fatal fault of IFF official I suspect individual animosities, jealousy.... attributed to this tragedy.
Even if everyone involve did wrong, If only Mansourian who has never been Omid coach had watched last two Omid games there would be no such tragedy.
Omid last game with Afazeli and Parhizgar was very controversial and made big news because entire coaches and Manager were red carded and few players were given cards (we reported in PFDC too). You would think he would have asked anyone what happened or asked players about it .He would have known about one car at least.
Game before was in Tehran and Video and report was available independent from IFF.
He did not do his basic homework.

I get criticized for coming down hard on coaches. now, when I say the coach has far less responsibility for the loss than other factors, I'm called "biased"?? lol
