    Ali jaan......
I do not see that with CQ !!.......he seems have invited lot of fresh and new names......and only one old timer ( karimi,... whom I do not believe will survive the cut )..........
beside, it is a common knowledge that the past league coaches had failed to develope new talents ( with the exception of jallali )........so it will take time......
developing talents is not the job of The TM coach.........

I'm also confused and have a difficult time understanding the absence of both M.Nouri and Jabbari.
Jabbari is a unique player and one of the best playmakers currently available. Nouri was absolutely Perspolis' best player this past season and if there was any single player from PP who deserved the call it was him!

Club selection and national team selections are totally different.

When you're a (rich) club coach you can have a preset idea/strategy/tactic and shop around for the players that fit that idea.

National team coaches have to select the best players (with out a preset idea/formation/strategy) and then figure out what's the best tactics/game plan that you can use which will use the most potential of your players.

I have found the Queiroz's selection very intersting.....
I have never ever seen so many " First time " invitees ,for an official game.....
Daei, invited so many, over and over again, in several invitations...which looked like he was just gambling rather than judging talents !!,and at the end, he mostly stuck again with better known players for an official game.
Queiroz appears to want to go only with his own perception and judgement ,and his selections seem to support that theory.......which it is based on who is at the best form ( with the exception of Karimi, whom I see having not much chances to stick around ).
    .....
On the secound note......I wish some one could provide the exact age of Selected players !

Well players selection is not that important if you ask me, unless a coach deliberately doesn't select a star player (Daei - Karimi issues...).

When there are 30 people to be selected almost everybody will choose the same 20-25 players. The remaining 5-10 is due to tastes, liking of players, and additional info one might have (is the player injured, or is he a problem in locker-room etc.)

You let any one, with a sane mind and, without a coaching degree choose the 30 best players of a league after watching all the games in 5 weeks, they'll choose almost the same players any top national team coach will pick (I admit that the remaining 5-10 players, or raw talent normal people would miss, that a coach picks shows the caliber of the coach).

The real issue is however, how you field the chosen players.

What's your formation? Does it fit the players you chose or not?

What's your strategy/game plan? Is it suitable for the match you're going to play and is it based on the weakness and strengths of both your's and the opponent's team?

How do you take advantage of your 3 substitutions? Do you use them to change the flow of the game to strengthen your team and take advantages of the weaknesses of the opponent, or do you just substitute for the sake of substitution?

I must say I am missing Mohammad Nouri who is a great playmaker and had a great season and Mojtaba Jabbari.

I think Kaebi needs to be back too, but after that season I am not surprised he's not called up.

There are many players which are not really needed in my opinion, but most of the players are really what I expected him to select.

    The new Team Melli coach, Carlos Queiroz has announced his latest roster of players for an Austrian camp in Loipersdorf, prior to the Maldives game and I must say the list has a lot of talking points.Lets have a look;

    GOALKEEPERS –
    Rahmati, Gordan, Haghighi, Memarzadeh

I believe these are among the best we have to offer in Iran, with inclusion of Esteghlal’s Mohamadi of course. So, no arguments here.

    DEFENDERS –
Mahini, Aghili, Nosrati, J. Hosseini, Heidari, Montazeri, Hajsafi and Pouladi(?)

First off, I am very disappointed to see one of Iran’s best defenders, Farshid Talebi’s name missing. Given his recent performances, I thought his name would have been the first on anyone’s list. The next point is Pouladi's name listed under defenders. He has hardly been used as a defender in our youth national teams or his clubs. At the same time I must say this list is missing the league’s top scoring defender M. Hosseini of Zob Ahan who scored 12 goals in the league itself. But I am happy to see H. Mahini get his well-deserved shot.

Another point of interest is the drop of Hamoudi, Foolad’s energetic right back’s name from the list which may be related to his silly actions in Hazfi semifinals where he committed two fouls within the first 20 minutes, thus handicapping his team for the remaining 70 minutes. At this level of football, having experienced international competition, you just don’t do such silly things.

    MIDFIELDERS –
    P. Noori, Hadadifar, Mobaali, Teymourian, Seifi, Karimi, Zareh, Zeniedpour, Baou, Ghazi, Aliasgar, Afshin

And here’s where I’m sure a lot of people will be focusing on. No doubt most of these names are worthy of playing in Team Melli. Among those missing in the list are players just about any team would love to have in their starting line up. To name a few; Jabbari, Md. Nouri, Jamshidian, Mosalman even Foolad’s Bakhtiar Rahmani. But with the abundance of capable midfielders in Iran, I understand it is a rather hard task to choose a limited number of them at any given time.

I assume Nekounam’s name is not included due to scheduling matters and frankly I agree it is not necessary to drag him for a game against Maldives.

    STRIKERS –
    H. Nowroozi, R. Nowroozi, Khalatbari, Ansarifard, Oladi and Daghighi

Pretty good line up of strikers, methinks. And with the return of injured Gh. Rezaei and Meydavoudi I think we’ll have a very enviable line up of forwards.

It must be mentioned that I believe the actual roster of selected players by Quieroz is larger than this which include many of the names not included at this point of time and perhaps fatigue and minor injuries of some players, especially those in teams that represented Iran in Asia may be a factor. So there's hope to see those left out given a fair trial and test at a later date.

The roster represents all the aspects of our football. It has physical players, highly technical players with great ball skills, creative ones, speed & pace as well as wide players to provide the width. This leaves Queiroz’s hands open in employing different formations and tactics. Now, all that’s left is to actually see his end product.
