Islamic Republic of Iran are one of the Continent’s most successful nations but have only won the AFC U-16 Championship once. They came close to winning again in 2016 but were denied by Iraq in the final, a defeat that was made even more painful by the fact that they lost on penalties but one which will surely push them to achieve glory in Malaysia.
