Hamid Estili named Iran Olympic Football Team Manager

Tasnim – TEHRAN, Ex-Iran and Persepolis midfielder Hamid Estili has been named as new Manager* of Iran Olympic football team.

Estili has already led Steel Azin, Shahin Bushehr, Persepolis and Malavan of Bandar Anzali.

The 51-year-old is mostly remembered for his memorable goal and goal celebration against USA at the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

Iran U-23 football team is preparing to book a place at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Iran, a powerhouse of the Asian football, has not been in the Olympics since the 1976 games in Munich.

The team currently leads by Amirhossein Peyrovani.

Football tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics will be held from 22 July to 8 August 2020 in Japan.
