Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Persepolis head coach Branko Ivankovic is satisfied with his team’s performance during the pre-season training sessions while he believes Mehdi Taremi should work hard in order to reach the other player’s level.

“We are ready for the start of the season and I would like to ask Persepolis fans to support us just like last season. We had tough training sessions at the Ukraine camp and the players are at the best form ahead of the new season, Branko told reporters.

“Taremi was absent during the pre-season camps so he needs to do work hard to reach the other players’ level,” he added.

Taremi, who finished top scorer in the Iranian league, was one of key members of Branko Ivankovic’s team who nearly missed the title and finished second on goal difference in the IPL 2015-16 season.

He joined Turkish side Rizespor on a two-year contract at the end of last season but eventually changed his mind and returned to Persepolis.
