Tehran Times – ATHENS, French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille has shown interest in signing of Iranian international striker Karim Ansarifard, Greek website “SentraGoal” reported on Saturday.

After a poor spell in Osasuna, Ansarifard joined Greek side Panionios last summer and impressed in his first season with the team as he scored 9 goals in 30 appearances.

While he has still one year left on his contract with the club, a couple of notable European teams including French side Marseille have shown their interests in signing him.

The 26-year old striker has previously stated that he is eager to continue his career in Europe so moving to France will be huge step forward for him.

“My priority is to stay at Panionios because I’ve had good moments in the team. However, I will make the best decision about my future,” Ansarifard said.

Marseille, who had a poor season finishing in 13th place in Ligue, is going to strengthen the squad to go back to glory days.

Ansarifard, who has scored 12 goals in 51 caps for Iran, has also linked with AEK and PAOK.
