Eriksson not interested in coaching Iran
MNA – TEHRAN, Sven-Goran Eriksson said that he is not going to leave Leicester City to take over as Iran’s new head coach.
Abbas Torabian, Director of the International Committee of Iran Football Federation (IFF), had already said the Swede is a candidate to replace Afshin Ghotbi after the 2011 AFC Asian Cup.
“We would be very happy if we got Mr Eriksson. He has a lot of experience,” Torabian said.
Eriksson, speaking after his side’s 5-1 win over Doncaster, rejected suggestions and said: “I have heard the rumors. No-one has contacted me.
“I am not interested. I am very happy where I am.”
