Tehran Times – KUALA LUMPUR, Saudi-owned media reported that their football clubs are willing to host Iranian counterparts in Muscat, capital of Oman.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League 2017 matches involving clubs from Saudi Arabia and IR Iran should be played in neutral venues.

The AFC Competitions Committee decided in last January to move the matches to neutral grounds after tension between the two Middle East powers.

Saudi Arabia newspapers have reported that the Saudi Arabian clubs will announce Muscat to host Iranian clubs and on the other hand it seems Persepolis, who has been drawn in Group D along with Al Hilal, is going to announce Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as host for the match against the Saudi Arabian team.

Iran’s Zob Ahan has been also drawn with Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia in Group C.
