Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Saipa football club has rejected the resignation of the team’s head coach Hossein Faraki.

Faraki stepped down from his position on Thursday after suffering a 2-0 home defeat against Esteghlal Khuzestan.

Faraki was named as Saipa coach in May as a replacement for Majid Jalali but found himself under pressure following the poor results in Iran Professional League.

Under Faraki, Saipa has lost five times, drawn eight and won one in IPL and remains 15th in the table.

Faraki has also worked as head coach of Foolad, Sepahan, Pas and Naft Tehran.

Saipa will meet Sanat Naft in Abadan on Thursday.
