Tehran Times – SEOUL, Iran U-19 football team lost to England U-20 team 4-1 in its final match of the Continental Cup on Saturday.

Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke grabbed a brace in the 51st and 76th minutes while Newcastle striker Adam Armstrong (32nd minute) and Isaiah Brown (68th minute) scored each for England.

Reza Jafari was on target in 54th minute for the Iranian team at the Suwon World Cup Stadium.

Iran was defeated against host South Korea 3-1 in the first match and beat Nigeria 1-0 in its following match.

The Iranian team came third in the four-a-side tournament while the victory was enough to guarantee England second spot in the competition.

South Korea will claim the Continental Cup title with a draw against Nigeria on Sunday.

Iran took part in the competition as part of its preparation for the U20s World Cup in South Korea.
