“We will get a good result against Turkmenistan” – Carlos Queiroz

Loading...Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iran national football team head coach Carlos Queiroz believes his men will make up for the 1-1 draw against Turkmenistan on Thursday.
Iran has been scheduled to face Turkmenistan in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium in Group D of the 2018 World Cup qualifier on Thursday.
“We have a very important game against Turkmenistan as we need to make up the points which we lost against them in our away game. We missed a lot of goal scoring opportunities in that match and I was not satisfied with my players’ performance. I hope the fans come to the stadium on Thursday and we get a good result against Turkmenistan,” Queiroz told reporters in a press conference.
The Portuguese coach who came to the press conference with four goalkeepers stated that he is trying to change the generation of the team and make his squad younger.
“If we could make a good preparation we will have a bright future. The next seven years of Iran football is in hands of these four young keepers. Our main goal is to prepare a strong team for 2018 World Cup in Russia so we have to make the squad younger,” Queiroz added.
Queiroz’s men will take on Turkmenistan five days before meeting Guam at the GFA’s National Training Center in Harmon.
