Tehran Times – ROSTOV, Iranian international striker Sardar Azmoun hopes he can help his new team Rostov to avoid relegation.

“I accepted moving to Rostov to work under Kurban Berdyev again. He convinced me to join Rubin Kazan in 2012. Rostov is currently in the relegation zone and I’m focusing on the remaining games this season to help them avoid relegation,” Azmoun told ISNA.

Rostov, which is currently at the bottom of the Russian Premier League and facing relegation, has won the Russian Cup last season.

Azmoun then spoke about his ambitions in the future and stated that he has a dream of playing in the English Premier League.

“My ultimate goal is to be a successful player in European football. I have a contract with Rubin Kazan until the end of the next season but I’m not sure I will be playing in the Russian League next season. I’m a fan of Real Madrid but I’m in love with English Premier League and it would be a dream to play in England’s top division,” Azmoun added.

Azmoun produced solid performances in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, where he scored two goals against Qatar and Iraq.
