Persianfootball.com – HAMBURG, Eintracht Braunschweig suffered a heavy 0-4 defeat to Hamburg in German Bundesliga on Saturday, still waiting for their first point after four rounds.

Again Iranian goalkeeper Daniel Davari got the nod, but this time couldn’t repeat the flawless performances from the previous two weeks.

While not being on blame on the first two goals before the break – a van der Vaart effort after a deflected cross and a tap-in from close range – Davari adapted to the poor display of his teammates towards the end of game.

After a string of great saves following the 2-0 and being saved by the woodwork twice, Davari then didn’t look good as he let a shot from inside the area slip under his body before conceding a very well struck freekick in to the keeper’s corner.

Considering coach Lieberknecht had so far refused to name a number one goalkeeper for the season despite starting Davari three times in a row, it might well be that veteran keeper Petkovic will now play a few games instead of the 25-year-old Iranian.

No Dejagah, no Jahanbakhsh

Also on Saturday a late goal was enough for Newcastle to defeat Fulham 1-0. Iranian winger Ashkan Dejagah, who had started in Cup midweek, again didn’t make the roster for the Premier League tie due to not having regained his form completely following his injury.

In the Netherlends NAC and NEC played out a 1-1 draw on Friday. Iranian youngster Alireza Jahanbakhsh remained on the bench for the full match in which NEC’s coach, quite unusually, refused to perform a single substitution although his team looking only second best for most of the match.
