PFDC – TEHRAN/BRAUNSCHWEIG, After several controversial reports in the past weeks, the 25-year-old Polish-Iranian goalkeeper of 2nd German Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Braunschweig, Daniel Davari,  confirmed positive talks with Carlos Queiroz regarding his invitation to the Iranian national team on his Facebook fan page.

Although Davari already mentioned that he will not wear Team Melli’s jersey in the upcoming Asian Cup qualifier against Lebanon in February due to an important club match two days later against VfR Aalen, the Braunschweig goalkeeper also confirmed his readiness to proudly represent Iran in March, most probably in the Asian Cup qualifier against Kuwait.

Nonetheless, the Iranian national team coach Carlos Queiroz will have to choose a starting goalkeeper who will replace Esteghlal’s Mehdi Rahmati (29) for the Lebanon game.

Rahmati reportedly resigned barely after Davari’s invitation but it is yet unknown if Rahmati’s sudden retirement is his final decision.
