WAFF championship to kick off on December 8

PFDC – KUWAIT CITY, The 2012 edition of the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) championship will take place from December 8 – 20 in Kuwait City, the WAFF confirmed.

Twelve nations will participate – more than in any of the six editions before – with Qatar being the only WAFF member to have turned down the invitation.

Beside current title holders Kuwait and record four times winners Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman, Bahrain, UAE, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Palestine will battle for the title.

The exact format as well as time and venue of the draw still have to be announced.
