It doesn't seem to be the most difficult thing to improve even without the proper shooting.
With a low 2 and 3pts ratio, how can we hope something in basketball?

This is not something that can be addressed at the senior level, at least for a quick fix. You need to instill proper foundation at the youth level. When I am playing pick-up ball at a rec center, I see how kids with the help of grown ups (albeit a coach, parent etc..) go through various shooting drills. We need that kind of foundation in our youth program in Iran. Look at what the splash brothers (Steph and Klay) did to NBA. Everybody, including their cousins, are taking threes and with an incredible accuracy. You are no longer seeing many back to the basket (post-up) plays anymore. You see everybody can handle the rock (whether you a PG, SG or even a center). Back in the day it would be comedic to see a center dribble the ball down the court.

So you can see there are many areas of the game that Iran is unfortunately light years behind other countries. We were lucky enough to witness an interesting time in our TM with Hamed's arrival in early 2000s and other players. That moment is gone and we have not been able to replace that talent. The only way to replace and replenish is by proper foundation. We need proper coaches coaching at all levels. I don't live in Iran so I can't tell you what the structure looks like. Given the way the 2 most popular sports are handled (football and wrestling), I am fairly certain that lack of foundation is even worse for basketball.

Damn our players are so weak on 3pts, even sometimes on 2 pts. The best ratio come from a black American. Wtf iranian does, they should spend every day training on 3 and 2 pts from every position

We lost against SK again and finished 6th

We beat chinese taipei with Heydari having the best stats.

Now we play NZ in 1/4, the winner goes to world cup. Very tough task..

We lost 87/61 against NZ and miss the U18 world cup. NZ beat China in semi and reached the final.

We beat India 73/59 against India and we will have to play against SK for the fifth place.

Damn we lost big against SK in asia cup u18. Loss in group stage 83/60 that means we have a play off against chinese taipei (should be doable) and then play NZ which seems strong. If we manage to beat NZ we will qualify for u18 world cup.

nice move for Parsa. The Pac12 conference no longer will exist next season but OSU will be playing in the WCC next year against the likes of Gonzaga and St Mary’s. One of the better mid-major conferences so this is quite a good step up from the conference and team he was in this season

Pasta Fallah will be playing at a bigger and better program next season. Wonder where he ends up. I’m guessing either University of Utah or Utah State just based on those schools being more local to his current school and probably knowing him more. Utah would be a very nice destination as he’d be playing in the Big 12 conference. Some other programs will likely be interested too though

Had a strong season averaging 13.2 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.6 apg on 57% FG.
