I dont know why there is always such a reactionary element. Sure thats true in some cases, but we are just allowed to lose without that being the case either.Originally posted by Abtin View PostOur entire sports need a billion dollars funding and thousands of psychologist to work on their mental part...

Gilman is a much better wrestler than Atri, a psychologist wont help him there.
As for Zarre, the kid was literally born in 01, he is a phenomenal talent. Petriashvili is reigning world champ, its normal that he was not able to beat him in his first olympics. Doesn't mean he is mentally weak.

“Didn’t care”Originally posted by TM4LIFE View PostWay too passive of a game from Atri. Looked like he just didn’t want it or didn’t care. Coach rightfully frustrated.
Very unfair!! These athletes spend their life and health on this to represent their nations. If you are going to criticize their stamina or strength or training or preparation or coaching that is fine but don’t doubt their desire and will! Shameful.
We wished he won but still 5th in the world is honorable. Khaste nabashi delavar, Khoda ghovvat pahlevan!

exactly. In everybody's book he overperformed even getting this far. The people who really neeed psychologist are the ones who feel so offended when our inferior athletes who gave their all fairly lose. It happens. Thats sport and part of wrestling. If you want to see a truly shit loss look at abdullaev who was 4 sec from semifinal and stopped wrestling...giving time for one last, desperate uguev takedown. Now uguev is taking the gold and abdullaev is medal-less.Originally posted by t8310 View Post“Didn’t care”

Don't you think it's very important HOW you come on the stage? The presentation.. it could psychologically affect the opponent.. Americans are really good at this. You can see it in Yazdani as well, although he's more calm than the Americans he still looks really confident with his eyes and posture..Originally posted by AGC View PostWe still need good sport psychologists. We need better fitness coaches too.

yes...because he is damn good. You see, technical superiority and confidence are closely linked. A wrestler who knows they are better than opposition is confident, rightfully. Same with our gold-medallist geraei.Originally posted by amin_a962 View PostDon't you think it's very important HOW you come on the stage? For atri to come on the mat uber confident vs a superior wrestler is not likely, and any projection of confidence will likely be eliminated as soon as he feels the superior pressure of the american in this case.
my point is sometimes its ok to hold your hand up and admit zooret naresid.
