There are like thousands of families with the last name hosseini, and I've never heard of a Kurd tell me they were forced to change their last name.

I have Kurdish relatives and I've never heard such a thing in my life.

What most don't know is that it seems like his family was forced to change their last name (from Hosseini or something) to Irandust just to show the local governing body that they aren't anti-Iran.

Which part of the US are you from? I live in the US, and everyone identifies themselves as Americans, even the dual national ones. Except the naturalized ones, they have more "ghairat" than the newer generation. The only time that players change their allegiance for a national team is when they go unnoticed. Sergio Van Dijk is an example or on a sub class level, Diego Costa.

I meant Kurds thinking they are not Iranian.

Anywhere in California you can see that most Iranians are proud, even kids like me who were born here identify as Iranian and obviously sometimes Americans because we wouldn't want to upset the sensitive sefids
