sJust saw this now, 6 of the top 7 in the 94kg weightlifting at the 2012 olympics have been banned. So our very own Saeid, who originally finished 5th, has now moveed up to first and got Gold. Crazy

As a rule we are clean ... I think Moradi was banned for 2 years but he disputes the ban as he was prescribed what he thought was a painkiller (which was unfortunately on the banned substances list).Originally posted by Bessos View PostProud of the fact that the Iranians are the only ones who don't cheat in Weightlifting.
Shame on the east block and every ex-Soviet country.
Moradi on Saturday easily topped the podium in the men's 94kg class just over a year after returning to action following a two-year suspension for testing positive for the painkiller methadone.
"No, I don't accept the idea that it's diminished because someone has doped," an angry Moradi told reporters, insisting that he had always been 100 percent clean.
"My doping ban was unwanted. I don't know why they disqualified me. I just don't know. I didn't know about the painkiller. Yes of course 100 percent (clean)," he added.

The decision should have been made earlier, not four to five years later. Nevertheless, it is a good thing for Iran.Originally posted by IRAN_TILL_I_DIE View PostsJust saw this now, 6 of the top 7 in the 94kg weightlifting at the 2012 olympics have been banned. I wrote this in another thread and repeat it again, nothing is final yet, he most probably will get the gold eventually but still a LONG way to go. first they have to test B samples of those guys, second IOC has to disqualify them and take their medal back and then it will be up to IWF to award those medals to the next athlete or not, all of them will take few months, still too early to celebrate.

Can you show me the confirmation ? I mean outside of shitty Iranian media.Originally posted by Adesor Vafaseya View Postjust saw it too, also Kianush Rostami's upgrade from Bronze to Silver for London 2016 is confirmed too!
this is not true, Rostami is still listed as bronze medalist
so far they only "officially" disqualified one weightlifter, Kalina from Ukraine. for the rest of this long list, still in progress

to be honest even during events Olympics world Champs etc, wiki is faster than IWF... IWF is really slow...
I also noticed that London Olympics Wiki medals are also updated, not only Iran Olympics wiki....
again, its just wiki... I saw the news about Mohammadpour's medal upgrade on CNN sports though, along with other weight classes were Russians competed.CHECK OUT OUR FORUM RULES HERE: http://www.persianfootball.com/forums/faq.php

wikipedia is not a source. everybody including yourself can edit that page.Originally posted by khosro View PostWikipedia has been updated (but I think that's a little premature) ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kianoush_Rostami
Find an English source outside of wiki show these changes in medal table are already done. you won't.
here is the ONLY official announcement regarding to this
this Moldovan guy was the last one above Mohammadpour who wasn't already tested positive and with him being positive, Mohammadpour is next in line to win the gold. but if you read the article this is far from being done.

This article basically says IOC has announced the results. Whether or not the medals have officially been reallocated is not clear.
