You guys do realize Sourian is the only reason Iran is on the koshti farangi (greco roman) map right? Didn't he win our first gold/medal in the sport? If anything his record deserves the same respect Pahlevan Takhti gets. There will be a day he will be discussed in a similar manner. I am sure he didn't come to rio to lose, and he still has a shot at a medal!

Why are you guys mixing two separate topics. No one is denying he is a legend. What is being discussed is whether his recent results including today is embarrassing or not and whether he should retire or not.
This is not about his legacy. His legacy was secured a long time ago.

well he is the most successful Iranian wrestler (both greco and freestyle) in history and one or two years ago broke Abdollah Movahed's medal record!Originally posted by O-ZoNe View PostYou guys do realize Sourian is the only reason Iran is on the koshti farangi (greco roman) map right? Well will all be forgotten if he medals? Would you call rio a success for him? Put the emotions of a loss aside. Last week we were ripping vball and now everyone is hoping for a medal. It's one close loss...many victories have been had.Originally posted by Soosk View PostWhy are you guys mixing two separate topics. No one is denying he is a legend. I have never ripped Volleyball. I know our history in that sport and how recent our success is. I don't have unrealistic expectations.
If Sourian wins a bronze then it will only further secure his legacy which I already said was secured along time ago. I would call a bronze medal him here a success considering how bad his form has been this year and how bad his draw was.

If the Japanese goes to final, than Sourian has a shot at the bronze if he wins the repechage fights (all those who were beaten by the Japanese on his way to final)Originally posted by Soorakhian View PostIs he out or is there still a chance for him?CHECK OUT OUR FORUM RULES HERE: http://www.persianfootball.com/forums/faq.php

I dont call it embarrasing for a 30 year old who recently had to change his weighting class by 4 kgs!Originally posted by Soosk View PostI disagree. I think his performance today and the entire year has been very much embarrassing. But no point discussing this over and over in this thread.CHECK OUT OUR FORUM RULES HERE: http://www.persianfootball.com/forums/faq.php
