How pathetic is the Olympic community attempt to remove Wrestling in the Olympic games. The oldest and most renowned sport in all of Olympics.. Thank God Iran, America, and Russia worked together to prevent that. Not our fault that these 3 nations are superior compared to other countries..

For me it is quite a good sport, with legitimicy and I hope some of you guys will take pleasure watching 10m Air Rifle in Rio with one of our girls taking an historic medal.
Of course each person has its own vision of things, and it is not probably the most dynamic sport but still it is entertaining to watch.
But you can't tell the same about some so called sports. For instance Synchronized Swimming is barely a sport, it is really at the limit of something which can be considered as an olympic sport. Sailing seems really boring, and is really stereotyped in terms of countries shinning there just like Synchro swimming and you can't compare it with wrestling whic has dozens of countries behind it all over the world (I'm speaking to IOC), but the problem is the dirty mafia running FILA which caused it behing in stress of losing its Olympic status and is still in serious danger.

However back to the topic, you also have Equestrian which is a big question for me as it is the horse who does everything, so technically not a sport. But these kinds of sports have to exist, in order to give easy medals to western European Nations while it is bad to see Iran winning medals in Wrestling and even more is they would include Karate instead of these useless sports because it would mean medals to Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia ...etc The official reason is that there are enough combat sports already (Kashk).

But the golden prize of the less deserved sport in (the history of) Olympics is GOLF. How can they even dare including such a sport, where is Olympism in it ? It is certainly the less accessible sport among the 28 along with Equestrian, and only millionnaires take part at the pro level, the same guys who for the major part of them have snobbed the Games (because of Zika officially).
Rugby 7 is also a bad idea, and based on their logic there was already 6 team sports but they still included Rugby and Gold instead of an universal sport like Karate, which has the advantage to bring a lot of women from Muslim countries.

That's why guys don't waste your time on IOC decisions, it is all about politics and they don't give a damn about which sports are essentials to Olympics and which one are among symbols of Olympism around the world like Wrestling or even Shooting.

There was an article I read years ago that pointed out European officials did not like the fact that Iran and other Asian countries were embarrassing their athletes in the Wrestling and the physical contact sports. It was the same "colonialist" mentality where they believe they're superior toe everyone else and when it doesn't go there way, they want to rid it.
