iceland played a very disciplined and hard fought game.

Portugal didn't have many convincing chances, icelands keeper made 80'% of their attacks seem easy to save.

I'm really looking forward to watching Portugal. While most people aren't mentioning them alongside the likes of France, Germany, and Spain, I personally think that Portugal will at least make the semi-finals. They have an extraordinary midfield but it's for that same reason that they haven't been talked much about. I think this tournament will be a major coming out party for what's being dubbed as the next Portuguese Golden Generation.

i think the ad means that Maldini, baressi and co make the goalie's job easier. Don't think that is true today. If it wasn't for Bouffon's brilliance Italy would have conceded several goals.

How so? In their six previous appearances in the European Championship, they've been quarter-finalists twice, semi-finalists thrice, and finalists once. The way Iceland played today is how they'll play against all their opponents. Again, I stand by my previous comment in which I believe Portugal will at least make the semi-finals.

The tournament has just started and none of the major teams produced a standout performance. I think things will look a lot better during the second round of group games.

I don't know why I don't like Switzerland very much in these tournaments.

I think its perhaps because they have far too many foreigners in the team that you don't get to see the passion within the players.

Belgium didn't deserve to lose, especially by a 2 goal margin. But it's football and anything can happen. Hard luck to them!

To be fair, Italy deserved to win the game. Kompany is badly missing in this team. Fellaini is useless, I still don't get how such a tall player makes so many faults on aerial duels. And Wilmots is a stubborn dude who will never admit he's wrong and try to improve things.

Our defense is crap and our biggest problem is that nobody understands Hazard in this team, no combination. He either has to try to make a solo effort or pass the ball backwards. If only De Bruyne and Hazard could get along on the field. Those who believed Belgium is gonna be a real contender, are so wrong. The team looks even weaker than the one which played the WC 2 years ago.
