Well its true. None of our wredtlers are fav for gold. It seems rahimi, sourian and norouzi have the best shot. Then perhaps h yazdani but i dont know how he will beat jordan and hasan has to wredtle in a heavier weight than last year

I know on paper, he has no chance to qualify for the semi-finals, but I will be rooting for him all the way!

I've always wanted Iran to be good in Swimming, and see them battle it out with the Australians in the pool.

The guy won 2 games in London and this year in his prime lost his first game in the games. This is called diwngrade and there is no excuse for someone who regularly plays in semi-pro boxing to lose like that in the amatour games. Fans have every right to critise him. Same downgrade happened with Noshad Alamian.

You are talking about results, I am taking about ridiculous expectations and the way Iranian media treat the athletes. Let me put it more frankly to you: even if Ehsan and Noshad and all the others sucked so hard in these Olympics, that wouldn't take anything away from my criticism of so-called fans' expectations and the Iranian media. No matter how bad these athletes might perform, these two aforementioned groups have nothing, absolutely nothing on them.

This is the video. It's not about the questions, though they were silly in and of themselves, but the timing. Why would you go interview an athlete some hours before the most important competition of his life? Also, during the interview, Ehsan talks about the messages he received from his fans who were expecting him to win gold. GOLD! That obviously put a lot of pressure on the poor guy. The funny thing is that most of these people don't even care for him to win a medal; all they want is this false sense of pride when they see their country up in the medal ranking. It's just sad.

Being proud of your countrymen and women is what the Olympics are all about.
He was a dark horse favorite.
All elite athletes have media and fan pressure.
That takes nothing away from his achievements.
