the Russians didn't help us out in anyway. They are pathetic this year. The games against Poland are an absolute must win for us and the way poland is rolling right now, if we beat usa again 3-0 or 3-1 we may even be able to overtake them at the end if Russia can finally get some wins against the Americans. We are chasing us and poland and the good news is that these two teams have to play each other in the final week of group stage which means 1 of them must lose.

Does anyone by any chance know why Russia's been playing so hopelessly this time around? Are they missing star players or something?
Also, good thing we didn't lose any games so far 3-0. I hope those 5 sets we won will be able to come to our rescue.

russia is missing one of the best players in the world. muserskiy. he is 2.18 but strong as a bull. his service is like lightning striking in ur side of court every time. i posted this earlier in the thread. they also missed a couple of other key players all due to injury

so IRIB can sansoor the hell out of the video's too!! the only way is to ban iran from all competitions and force them to allow women. having games at a neutral ground does not fix the problem.

They will have much work to censor if abroad. And It don't think it is a big deal for them to have volleyball, football or other of their national team banned.

Punishing the hard working and dedicated players is not the solution either. The competition will go on and it's unfair for our lads. Fans, the males, in particular could start chanting slogans, bringing banners, and supporting women. I was saddened to see that when the women held protests and sit ins, no males joined them. The only males shown were hardliners in their own rally against them.

That's nice to hear!

Makes you wonder about all the arab complaints about Iran and hospitality. Perhaps if they were willing to not keep our players in airports for 10 hrs, fingerprint them, and let hooligans have access to their hotels, they might have the same experience that the USA got in Iran???
