Looks like we won the game without our best hitter Ghafour.
Also looks like Mahdavi played setter and Marouf was benched.
Not to mention Armin Tashakori who was a starter for the last few games was also benched.
If we won this tournament with half our real team, then I can't see anyone challenging us for the next few years.. expect another Futsal feast.

Basketball loss stings. Not sure what happened but there is no way Iran should lose to Korea and almost lose to Kazakhs. It's reminiscent of how we missed the Olympics in 2012 when Haddadi single handedly lost the game to Jordan.

I can no better way describe todays results as nothing but two words : missed oppertunity

We had a chance to defeat India in kabaddi which would be a huge result in that sport. We were up 21-13 after the first half and we made several defensive errors in the second half and ultimately lost the game by 1 point. It really was unbelievable the contrast between how well we did in the first half and how awful we were in the second half. So we lost a golden oppertunity to not only get a much needed gold medal but also change the face of that sport.

In boxing we had 2 finalists both going up against Kazakhstan boxers. It was absolutely crucial for us to win at least 1 of these 2 matches and we lost both. Not only did we not get a gold but we gave 2 golds away to our medal ranking rivals the Kazakh. Both our boxers lost 3-0.

In basketball the really unbelievable happened. We are head and shoulders above almost every team in Asia and basketball was a guaranteed gold medal. We somehow managed to play awful and down to our opposition and lost the gold medal match to the south koreans. This result is really unbelievable and unacceptable and in my opinion it is our worst performance at these Asian games. What makes the sting even more is that we lost to these Koreans who have repeatedly cheated us at these games.

In Taekwondo we won a gold in the 60kg. But 2 of our women fighters made their respective finals but they both lost. So what could have been a potential 3 gold day in Taekwondo turned into a gold and 2 silvers. Again this is disappointing because of how badly we needed gold medals.

All in all we made 10 finals today which meant 10 gold medals were up for grab and we ended up losing 7 of these gold medals. Although the medal haul today was still impressive I cant help but feel disappointed at the missed opportunities. The Kazakhs on the other hand did not miss their opportunities. They won 6 out of their 7 finals in boxing and won 8 gold medals today which means the fight for 4 place in the gold medal race is over. The one positive news is that at these Asian games we won medals in some sports that we have typically never been successful in. We also have won 1 gold medal more than 2010 and these is still chance with adding to this with Karate left on the final day. I think if we hadn't had such terrible officiating against us we would very easily be in the mid to high 20s in gold medals.

Ouch we lost so many finals today. Basketball loss though is quite hard to digest. Especially with that 5 points lead with under a minute to go...

Last Asian Games we clinched the 4th spot, this year 5th. However last AG we had almost 100 more athletes!
