Can't believe we lost to Poland, especially being two points up late in the 5th set. As usual everything comes to the last day and other results going in our favor.
We definitely need to get all the 3 points from the game tomorrow and hope that US drop a point against Argentina which has been terrible, OR France get all 3 points from Poland, which is another tough one.
The only way we can advance with 2 points from the game tomorrow is if the US loses its game to Argentina which is almost an impossibility at this point.

Lots of praying Abtin jaan:Originally posted by Abtin View PostSo tomorrow, we should pray for Argentina and France victories!!
Iran 3-0 or 3-1 AND
France 3-0 or 3-1 OR US 3-2 or worse
Regardless of what happens, the good news is that we're pretty much guaranteed a 7th place finish in the tournament which is by far our best showing at this tournament.

Amazing come back by Iran. Poland was behind all the time in the last threes sets, i guess it's a lack of experience of some of our players. With 2 points we would've had a good chance of going through, but looking back at the first two sets it's great we're still alive. Now we need 3 points, and need France to beat Poland ... it's possible.
And you never know, Argentina can pull an upset too. If they lose in five sets, and we win 3 points i think were third.

Possible of course and hopefully true. Poland has been a very impressive team too and other than their meltdown against the US, they had only lost 2 other sets in the whole tournament before today. Not to forget also that they're the hosts so they've got the crowd behind them. I'm more hopeful on Argentina pulling a miracle!Originally posted by Abtin View Postto be honest, its possible. France are strong.
