I don't think it has to do with being half Iranian.
Zandi, Davari and Omid Nazari both decided to play for Iran despite being half Iranian.
I doubt Ashkan Dejagah would choose for Germany. He really loves Iran, and he knows the German national team is out of his league.
You forget that Ashkan has already played for Germany in the youth category and I was assuming he was good enough for Germany. All the names you mentioned didn't have a choice but Iran for the world cup, I am not questioning anyones love for Iran, but given the situation, I don't blame him for choosing Japan
I mean he is half Iranian, it only makes sense for him to decide on Japan considering the situation of Iran, Even if Ashkan was given a choice between Iran and Germany he would have chosen Germany, the same goes for all of them and I am not comparing Japan with Germany in football terms but as a country. while every Iranian is trying to get a non Iranian passport, we expect him to give up his Japanese and get an Iranian one, that's asking too much.
Good Luck to him in all cases, as now we can tell the Japanese that they have an Iranian player on their team. Hope he shines, as he is half Iranian and that is stuck with him for life no matter who he choses to play for.

To be fair, isn't expressing yourself the way you want part of freedom?
I think their adab and as you say bijanbegi is the problem, not lack of freedoms. They are just plain idiots.
So you agree with me. Didn't say the freedom is the problem. The little freedom they have over the internet is misused because they don't have any adab and janbeh at all.
Freedom of speech is something different than insulting everything and every left and right just because you can.
Only coz we have the freedom here to go the kitchen store and buy some knives, doesn't allow us to buy some and go stab any1 we don't like.
Everything comes with responsebility. Especially freedom.
That's why the deserv IR.
They can't handle freedom be it in real life or over the internet.
As long as iranians are so bijanbeh, they are exactly getting what they deserv.
And they are the majority. Don't fool yourself with the few chaps here on PFDC who are outside the country.
We are the minorty. The majority is like this.

He made a personal decision, Who the F*** those idiots think they are to insult him for that.
