Why do you call it Olympics? Olympics is for sports that are played by all the countries of the world, ot at least most of them. Summer olympics deserved to be named Olympics as most countries of the world participate significantly.

Looks like they may be paying some much-needed attention to winter sports, even aim for a medal in Sochi 2014.

And in which event do you expect a medal from Iran in 2014 bro ?

In Iran only 3 Winter Sports exist (Alpine, Cross Country and Snowboard) among 15 Olympic Sports, and these few ones are in a prehistoric state in comparison of Western Countries and even East Asian ones.
Even if Iran has a lot of potential in Winter Sports, a lot of capacities but as long as no one cares about we will never have success in, if they start working for tomorrow we can aim for medals in 20/30 years.

You know Iran won his first medals in Asian Winter Games only in 2011, the only light at the moment is a young US-Iranian boy of 18 years which compete in Freestyle Skiing Moguls (doesn't exist in Iran) for Iran and has some chances to qualify in Sochi.

i am a blackhawks fan but just saying in Canada Montreal is Montreal (untouchable by leafs)and Vancouver has had decent teams in the last decade but the leafs just svck, take for example the choke job they did against boston!
