Why do you think Asia's 5th team will play Uruguay? I think they will qualify as one of the top 4 teams of South America without a playoff.

I think there is too much fear from Iranians with regard to the South American teams. For example, In the 1994 OFC-CONMEBOL play-off, Australia were narrowly defeated 2-1 by World Cup Finalists Argentina.

Had Iran faced a 5th placed South American team for a place in Brazil next year, we would have dominated them in Tehran and got owned in their stadium away. In the end, I would have seen our chances of qualification from that route as being 50-50.

man this guy needs to get us some good friendlies before world cup. i hope our political situation doesnt ruin it. I would even take another friendly against brazil if we can. even setting up portugal would be a great test. i dont care if we get demolished by these teams. we need some REAL practice.

i think Spain got what they deserved and actually brazil let them off easy. Thats the difference between BIG teams with history like italy and brazil vs. a new contender like Spain.....big teams know when to stop and not go too far on their opponent when the game is done. Spain runs up the scoreline on everyone to pad their stats and make themselves look dominant. The reign of Spain is over i believe. Next world cup they're not gonna beat brazil, germany or italy. They will still run up scores on weak teams but they will fall short of the big teams.

besides u might be able to skip hard teams the first round of playoffs....once it gets to top 8 then alll the teams are good

As much as I like Spain to get ruined dont be quick to jump to conclusions, alot can happen in a year. Maybe a team will show up who will blow both Brazil and Spain out of this world, maybe Spain will learn from this game more than Brazil did
