Guys.. It just wasn't meant to be

Bosnia are the only team to beat us in the last 20 years (2004 Athens), and we beat them in (2008 Beijing final) and this year group stage. However, they got their tactics spot on. Iran after winning the first set, started to get abit complacement and then hit some wayward shots, Bosnia gathered more confidence and then dominated the game. After the 3rd set, It was all Bosnia. They dominated it, and looked full control. It was first time I've seen our volleyball team on the backfoot, Usually we would string the passes and do the spikes, but Bosnia defended well and attacked well. They are deserved Champions - to lose a set down in final, and then win it is not easy. You will only learn mistakes from a defeat, and I'm sure the boys would do all they can do to get Gold in Rio da Janeiro. At the end of game, we all chanted 'Bacheha motshakerim' .. and dameshoon garm. They put so much effort, let's not criticism them.

It was disappointing when we left the arena, but then we received the news that Mohammed Khalvandi got Gold in Javelin Throw F57/58.. then the fans were loud and kept chanting 'IRAN IRAN'

Tomorrow, we have a Bronze medal match vs Brazil (football 7aside) . I hope we win it.

It's been a fantastic week for me personally. I loved it.


P.S - out of 13 athletic players - we received 12 Medals from them. Out of 8 powerlifters, 6 of them got medals (4 Golds). That's fantastic.

Overall, 10 GOLD - 7 SILVER - 6 BRONZE
