baba, this is 2012, that was 1976. We would have had a much better growth in economy and sports under the shah.

Football players used to play with Ghyrat but so much money got the best of them. They sold their Ghyrat.Originally posted by Camran khan View PostWhat is impressive about our wrestlers is that most of them are poor kids who do it for the love of the game, so I believe one of the reasons for their success is their gheyrat
It's a shame that our football players don't have such gheyrat.

no doubt ... i was watching turkey vs. USA in women's VB over the weekend and couldn't help but think that exact same thing ... our beautiful, sar-boland, shir-zan would have nothing less than turkey's.Originally posted by manchooo View PostDefinitly. At the very least, our women would be bagging some medals as well.

In most other weightlifting tournaments it seems that C&J and Snatch are counted as separate disciplines. You can become a champion in just one of them. In the Olympics, they are obviously combined. It may be the case that Iranians just focus and train more for C&J.Originally posted by manchooo View PostWhy is that? Why are Iranian lifters so much weaker in snatch compared to C&J? This seems to be the case with all of them.
