    baba, this is 2012, that was 1976. We would have had a much better growth in economy and sports under the shah.

    Football players used to play with Ghyrat but so much money got the best of them. They sold their Ghyrat.

    no doubt ... i was watching turkey vs. USA in women's VB over the weekend and couldn't help but think that exact same thing ... our beautiful, sar-boland, shir-zan would have nothing less than turkey's.

    Definitly. At the very least, our women would be bagging some medals as well.

    yes we got gold again!! silver is good too but gold metals are pretty much in a whole other league..wish we can get more gold metals and make this our best olympics ever!

    In most other weightlifting tournaments it seems that C&J and Snatch are counted as separate disciplines. You can become a champion in just one of them. In the Olympics, they are obviously combined. It may be the case that Iranians just focus and train more for C&J.
