With all the publicity that Blake Griffin got, it was prevalent that he was going to win no matter how good or bad his dunks were. I think that the other players in this year's dunk contest could have won it in any other year.

Dunk contest has lost it's touch. Everything has pretty much been done already. That's why they have to do this stupid crap to create some sort of "excitement".

best 3 were derozans showstopper, ibakas ft (further back than anyone before him), and mcgees 2 baskets. Dont forget those first 2 were on the first attempt, which i think is an underrated aspect.
So blake didnt have any of the best 3 but imo he still deserved to win because mcgee didnt really top him for that last one. All the best dunks were in the first round.Comment

I agree, theres nothing that hasen't been done except for a double between the legs and a 720 but those two are incredibly difficult. Basically all the dunks are dunks he have seen just a bit different of with a little twist. griffin just had the swagger and power to his dunks...thats what makes a dunk contest winner, same as the ones dwight howard and vince carter used to do. i wasnt impressed with the 3 ball dunk cuz it was all 3 easy dunks, he just did them quick AND he held on to the rim a little longer. Mcgee's best dunk was the backward slam as he was goin away from the basket.Comment
