thank god we lost by less than 40 lol. ive seen worse usa teams win by a much larger margin.

i think it is the lack of depth. playing 40 minutes against a team that continuously is fresh is tough. we have only 7 players (if even) that are game time worthy right now, as compared to the 9 (if even) that we could have had with bahrami and afagh.

at the same time, i think this is good for davoodi and kamrani to get minutes against a big team like USA, that way we can be better against asia and weaker euro teams.

arsalan really needed more support this game, he couldnt do it by himself. if you give him better defenders you can see more because he plays better. we needed more natural shooters like bahrami. hadadi really needed to stop shooting the 3

Today we only had 2 of our usual starting 5 (Haddadi, Kamrani), the other 3 were missing (Samad, Afagh and Oshin) so I guess the result wasn't that bad.

Not horrendous considering the missing stars, but I can say I'm more disappointed with the performances against Croatia and Brazil... It was my first chance to see Kazemi in action- the guy accelerates really well, and cuts well- the commentator said it best, he's similar to Wally S. without the shooting range. It's hard for Iran to compete at the global level, because of a simple lack of physique- opposition is usually much bigger and taller in the guard and forward positions.
