Coached by former Iran national team coach Branko Ivanković, Shandong were placed in Group H of the AFC Champions League with Adelaide United (Australia), Sanfrecce Hiroshima (Japan) and Pohang Steelers (Korea Republic).
They will play Sanfrecce Hiroshima away in the opener on February 24.
