From what I've heard, Algeria doesn't give a damn about African Cup of Nations and they want to leave the tournament as soon as possible. Their players only think of the World Cup.

Yeah it makes sense, who cares about the African Cup in the same year as the world Cup its a bad idea to make the African Cup every two years instead of 4.

I actually don't think so. To me national teams need to have physically ready players. This is the responsibility of the club. What matters is that the team has a really good camp right before the World Cup. They need to build morale and comradery. They need to be happy with each other and have built up motivation for the tournament. This is why to me you can't really predict who will do best at the World Cup by even looking at results from a year ago.

Just look what happened to our TM in 2006. TM actually played alot of games, but no effort was made to make sure the players were able to get along and work well on the field. Also the clubs failed in providing physically fit players for the tournament.

Ivory Coast totally outplayed Ghana today. Ghana just couldn't break Ivory Coast down who looked very strong today. Drogba didn't have an amazing game, but give him once chance, and he will score.. thats what good strikers do.
