this isnt a terrible buy, although I do agree that 30m is way too much and the unambition of German sides, Gomez is a pretty alright striker, has a good scoring record and is young...only problem is hes pretty darn inconsistent

man, u guys paid 30 million for a defender who had only proven himself in the portugueese league and brought to him a much stronger league. that too a defender, and u r still having a lot of problems in defense!

not that his attitude is anything worth of praising.

we paid 30 million for a striker (usually strikers and attacking midfielders are more expensive than defenders) who has already proven himself consistently in the same league that we are bringing.
and he doesnt have the attitude problems pepe has.

not that i think it was a silly move by bayern management (unless he turns out to be another gerd muller or atleast another klinsman), but its a much safer, and less inflated deal than real madrid's pepe!

sorry but i disagree. our defense sucked so we brought in a defender. so what if he was brought to a stronger league... did he fail? no. he was a success and is one of the best center backs in the "stronger league" and has helped our defense. yes our defense is still has problems at times but as far as pepe the one man is concerned he was mostly solid and consistent.

yet you payed 30 mil for a striker when you already have toni and klose.
