Don't put anything passed Blatter and co. Bad performance or not, they may still get to the knockout stages .

Don't know about Venezuela. The third team in CONCACAF is always a crapshoot, so El Salvador has as good a chance as anyone. No Iran? Strange, they should make it even if they aren't playing their best. As for Africa, Burkina Faso is actually a pretty astute pick IMO. Not many know that they've turned heads early on in the qualifiers, and even won their first round group over Tunisia.

Wrong . South Africa is involved in the World Cup qualifiers because they double as Africa Cup of Nations 2010 qualifiers as well. They'll be in the World Cup no matter what. Whether they can qualify for the African Cup is a different, much sadder story .

Yup, and a surprise team or two that doesn't. So far it's looking like Lithuania (and some others) are in great position, while Portugal and especially France have some catching up to do.
