It seems like The gala award goes to the player that performs the best individually AND with the team! Ronaldo scored 42 goals, won the EPL and the Champions league, and helped portugal go to Euro like the quarter finals, Messi played well too, but didn't win anything with Barca, but he'll get it in 2009.

yes but when the player scored 42 goals which helped the team 2 win the league and score in the CL final and become the CL top goal scorer last yr then he a big part in wining us the trophy and totally deserves it, dont get me wrong, man united is not a 1 man team...its far from that and u saw how tevez and rooney scored some vital goals and also the brilliant midfield but ronaldo also had a big part so for that reason he totally deserves it. im sure messi will win it next season.

It's all exaggeration of EPL by media and making a God out of a crybaby.
We all saw how he did shit against Barca in both legs while Messi(despite Barca being in worst form possible) did a lot better than ronaldo in both legs.
Fifa and their decisions suck big time

lots of younger fans all fall to the heavy EPL ads, sponserships and products.
have u guys seen the Barclays ad? they make the players look like Warriors and gladiators. like they are some god like creatures.
