Messi doesn't need an award, he is the best player in the world.We all know it, C.Ronaldo can get all the awards he wants, but he is nowhere near the player Messi or even Kaka is.

Both Kaka and Messi destroyed Man. Utd. when they played against them, and Kaka did it through victory, Messi did it even though he was recovering from an injury. Now tell me C.Ronaldo is the "best player of the year" when he can do what these players have done against the best teams in the world.

"Achievement" is what makes a player one of the best in the world, not THE best, that is down to pure talent, and in that case Messi is #1.

Who gives a shit if Messi is naturally better. He is younger and yes probably better than him, but we r talkin about the form players and the season they have had. Ronaldo deserves it coz of the outstanding season that he it.

i just dont get how people say ronaldo doesn't deserve player of the year. he had a wayyyyyyyyy better season than kaka or messi did. they didn't bring shit to their clubs? ronaldo brought epl and ucl titles to manchester, and scored 40+ goals in the process. he has been by far the best player in the world up to today.
