    i heard that he quit because he wasnt fit to compete and didnt want to lose and that he plans on going into politics, anyone else heard this?

    not necessarily from Iran.

    Really depressed to hear about this. I can honestly say this was the number 1 thing i was looking forward to in the Olympics.

    I was watching iran tv 3 sport the other day and it was showing him in training and one was his leg was injured and it showed doctors treating it.

    for some reason i'm thinking this either has a side issue behind it or is a rumor...but if it's true it's very sad indeed and he had a great weightlifting career that we can all be very proud of

    I actually think his accident last year really f***ed him up. He missed too much time out and his hands and legs were all really messed up.
    Never the less he will be remembered as one of our great Olympic heroes and will be remembered in the international scene as well.
